Assent’s mission is to make the supply chains of complex manufacturers deeply and durably good. As part of this work, the company is committed to decarbonization and has already reduced Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 39%. The company has also committed to engage 50% of its suppliers to set targets aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) by 2027. Achieving these goals depends on accurate carbon accounting across a complex global footprint, including 1,500 suppliers spanning cloud infrastructure, professional services, travel and marketing.
The Challenge: Migrating three years of data with disclosures in flight
In late 2025, Assent’s sustainability team decided to move off its existing carbon accounting platform, which relied heavily on category averages to calculate Scope 3 emissions. The team wanted more actionable and auditable data: supplier-specific emission factors to prioritize engagement on SBTi targets, and clear visibility into how each number was calculated.
The Assent team wanted to move quickly. Their contract with the previous platform ended on December 30th and they needed to migrate three years of historical data in four weeks. The team was also in the process of compiling Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) disclosures against a February deadline, so data continuity was non-negotiable.
The Solution: Fast migration and baseline enhancements
Assent kicked off with Gravity on December 4th. The company’s full 2024 footprint was live in two business days. 2023 followed days later, and the team revisited the 2022 methodology and supported emissions factor updates through a series of working sessions. In two weeks, Assent had three complete years of Scope 1, 2, and 3 data in Gravity, covering every site from Ottawa to Eldoret to Pune and all of its 1,500 suppliers.
The migration also surfaced gaps in the previous platform’s Scope 3 calculation methodology. For example, Gravity identified that employee commuting had been calculated using one average distance for every employee and every working day, regardless of hybrid policy. Gravity rebuilt the calculation from Assent’s actual attendance data for a more accurate Scope 3 Category 7 footprint.

The Result: Confident disclosure and AI supplier enrichment
After migrating three years of emissions data in two weeks, Assent completed its 2025 carbon accounting with Gravity and delivered a complete emissions report to investors within a week of the data work finishing. Assent published its 2025 sustainability report on that foundation.
Assent has also used Gravity’s AI supplier enrichment to accurately document which of its 1,500 suppliers have climate targets, as well as which are SBTi-validated. Gravity found that 4% of suppliers have SBTi-validated targets, setting an accurate baseline for the company’s supplier engagement.
