April 2025 Product Updates

Sustainability teams moved mountains in April to publish annual reports by Earth Day and hit EDCI reporting deadlines, among others. Congratulations! You made it.

As teams turn to upcoming disclosures like CDP, and move from emissions reporting to action, this month’s product update covers a new way to upload data, emissions and energy cost reduction plans, and emissions calculation enhancements.

Forward Emails to Upload Data and Calculate Emissions

Gravity meets your data where it is. Today, sustainability teams spend hours in their inboxes receiving and downloading data to upload in separate platforms. Gravity now supports data uploads directly from your email to calculate emissions and save valuable time:

  • Effortlessly upload documents like utility bills to the Gravity platform by forwarding emails to a unique address associated with your Gravity account
  • Avoid tedious and time-consuming integrations by sending auto-generated emails from other systems directly to the Gravity platform
  • Ensure accurate activity data for scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by reviewing forwarded documents and associating them with specific sites and activities
  • Verify the accuracy of emissions calculations and ensure auditability with automatic bill scan verification of uploaded documents

Create Plans to Reduce Emissions and Energy Costs

Measurement and reporting often surfaces new opportunities for emissions and energy cost reduction. Too often, though, reduction targets are set without a clear path to achieving them. Gravity has enhanced reduction plans to help organizations identify realistic projects and set energy efficiency and decarbonization goals with confidence:

  • Analyze the expected contribution of projects to achieving scope 1, 2, and 3 targets by assigning each project to specific emissions scopes and categories
  • Prioritize high potential projects and calibrate implementation timelines with dynamic visualization of expected project outcomes over time
  • Check alignment with science-based targets by automatically comparing reduction plans to 1.5℃ and 2.0℃ by 2050 warming targets

What Else is New

  • Enhanced Market-Based Emissions Factors: Use your preferred methodology to calculate emissions by assigning market- and location-based emissions factors, now including additional residual mix factors for market-based calculations.
  • Scope & Category Overrides: For unique situations, you can now override the default scope and category assigned to your emissions. This is an advanced feature for power users of the platform.
